Terms of Use
These terms are an agreement between you and Ann Schulte, doing business as Reasoning Labs (“Reasoning Labs”, “we”, “us”). They cover your use of the Reasoning Labs website, text messaging and connectors (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, don’t use it.
How we handle your information is in our privacy policy.
1. Not for emergencies
If you think you may be in danger, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room now. If you are thinking about harming yourself, call or text 988.
Nobody watches Reasoning Labs around the clock, and it does not contact your doctors or anyone else for you.
2. What Reasoning Labs does, and what it doesn't
Reasoning Labs explains health questions and test results in plain words, from U.S. government health pages and FDA drug labels, with each sentence linked to the line it comes from. If you connect your records, it reads them so the answer is about you, and it keeps a timeline of what it has read and what you tell it.
Reasoning Labs does not:
- Practice medicine or give medical advice. It does not diagnose, treat or advise you, and using it does not make anyone at Reasoning Labs your doctor.
- Decide anything about your care. Never start, stop or change a treatment or a medicine because of something you read here without asking your doctor or pharmacist.
- Guarantee that answers or records are complete or right. Answers come only from the sources they cite, and say so when the sources don’t cover a question. Records show only what your hospitals send and what you tell us; they can be incomplete, wrong or out of date.
Never ignore medical advice, or wait to get it, because of something in Reasoning Labs.
3. Who can use it
You must be at least 18 and live in the United States. Use Reasoning Labs only for your own health information.
4. Your account
You sign in with a one-time code sent to your email. Keep access to that email secure, and tell us right away at hello@reasoninglabs.ai if you think someone else has used your account.
5. Connecting your records and apps
When you connect a hospital, you sign in on your hospital’s own page, not ours, and choose to let Reasoning Labs read your record. Some hospitals let us check for new results every day for a period you choose; you can stop that at any time. You can disconnect a hospital, which deletes what we read from it.
If you connect Reasoning Labs to another app, such as Claude, that app can read your record and ask questions for you until you disconnect it. What that app does with what it reads is governed by its own terms.
Reasoning Labs is not endorsed by Epic, Oracle, Anthropic or any hospital.
6. Text messages
If you text us, you’ll get a one-time message asking you to reply YES before we answer. Message and data rates may apply, and how often we text depends on how often you write. Reply STOP to stop and HELP for help. Texts are not encrypted, so we send full answers as a link.
7. Using it fairly
Don’t misuse the Service. In particular, don’t:
- Enter someone else’s health information or connect someone else’s records.
- Try to get into other people’s data or accounts, or test or break our security without our written permission.
- Send automated traffic, scrape the Service, or use it to build a competing data set.
- Use the Service for anything unlawful.
8. Sources
Answers are drawn from public U.S. government health information, including MedlinePlus and other pages of the National Library of Medicine, the National Institutes of Health, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and drug labels published by the Food and Drug Administration through DailyMed. These agencies are not responsible for Reasoning Labs and do not endorse it.
9. Fees
Reasoning Labs is free. If we ever charge for anything, we’ll show the price and ask you first.
10. Changes
We may change the Service or these terms. If a change to these terms is material, we’ll tell you by email before it applies, and you can stop using the Service and delete your account if you don’t agree.
11. Disclaimers and limits on liability
To the fullest extent the law allows:
- The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits or revenue.
- We are not liable for the acts, advice or care of any doctor or hospital, or for what your records contain.
- Our total liability for all claims about the Service is limited to US $100.
Some laws don’t allow some of these limits. Where that’s so, they apply only as far as the law allows.
12. Ending
You can stop using Reasoning Labs and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, if the law requires it, or if we stop the Service.
13. General
These terms and the privacy policy are the whole agreement between us about the Service. If part of them can’t be enforced, the rest still applies. Not enforcing a term is not a waiver. You may not transfer these terms; we may transfer them, with notice to you, if Reasoning Labs is incorporated or sold.
